Hydroscand commits to the Science Based Targets initiative
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global organisation that drives ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling companies to set emission reduction targets in line with the latest climate science and the goals of the Paris Agreement. In short, it helps businesses ensure that their climate goals are consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5 °C.
Working with the SBTi helps us align our climate ambitions with the latest science. By committing to set science-based targets and ultimately having them validated, we strengthen our transparency, meet stakeholder expectations and drive innovation toward a more sustainable and resilient future.
Hydroscand has now made two commitments:
• Near-term commitment: We have committed to set company-wide emission reduction targets (5–10 years) for our value chain in line with the 1.5 °C pathway.
• Net-zero commitment: We have committed to set long-term targets (to achieve net-zero emissions across the value chain, before 2050) also aligned with the 1.5 °C pathway.
Both commitments are active from 16 October 2025, and our target-setting work will culminate in a submission of our proposed targets in December 2025, with an expected approval during Q1 2026.
Hydroscand is listed on the SBTi Target Dashboard among companies that have committed to setting science-based targets in line with the Paris Agreement.
