Transparency as a foundation for progress

At Hydroscand, we are committed to transparent and responsible reporting. We measure what matters—not only to track our own impact, but to ensure that our stakeholders can trust our journey toward a more sustainable future. Our sustainability reporting is based on internationally recognized frameworks and constantly evolving to meet new requirements.

We view reporting not as a formality, but as a powerful tool for continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.

Reporting aligned with CSRD and double materiality

Hydroscand continues to develop its reporting in line with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Following the Double Materiality Assessment conducted in 2024, we have continued to strengthen our understanding of both our impact on society and the environment and the financial risks and opportunities linked to sustainability factors.

This work supports stronger alignment between strategy, risk management and reporting, and helps guide our priorities in line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). During 2025, we continued to build on this foundation through improved processes, stronger data quality and clearer integration of sustainability into core business planning.

Our emissions and performance data

Hydroscand measures greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, using a combination of spend- and activity-based data in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. During 2025, we continued to refine our data collection and calculations, increasing the share of activity-based data to improve accuracy and transparency – particularly in Scope 3.

Selected 2025 figures:
  • Total emissions: 49,772 tCO₂e
  • Scope 3 share: 92% of total emissions
  • Renewable electricity use: 82%
  • EcoVadis rating: Silver (Top 15% globally)
By the end of 2025, Hydroscand had submitted its science-based targets, using 2024 as the baseline year. While we are proud of the progress made, we recognize that reporting is a journey of continuous improvement.

How we ensure data quality

Hydroscand works with trusted partners like Normative for carbon accounting and Kodiak Hub for supplier data tracking. Our ambition is to make data meaningful, traceable and actionable – across emissions, supplier performance, employee development and other key sustainability areas.

In 2025, we continued to improve the quality of our emissions calculations by increasing the use of activity-based data and refining the methodology across Scopes 1, 2 and 3. This strengthens the relevance of our reporting and gives us a better foundation for target-setting and follow-up over time.

Our internal KPI structure supports this ambition, with group-wide targets and follow-up processes integrated into operational planning. We publish our results annually in the Sustainability Report.
